Seneca is a bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) who hatched in 2019. She was rescued near the South Branch of the Potomac River, which flows through the Seneca Rocks area. Seneca has vision issues that prevent her from being released. She was transferred to us from another center, and we aren't sure if her vision problems were caused by West Nile virus, trauma, or lead poisoning.
Seneca's enclosure includes a pond with a solar-powered waterfall, and she enjoys perching near it and bathing. For more information: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Bald_Eagle/ |
