At the ACCA, we believe in the power of community-driven conservation. American kestrel populations are facing decline, and we are determined to uncover the reasons behind it. Through the Peregrine Fund’s American Kestrel Partnership, we're launching a comprehensive research initiative with the support of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR).
Our primary goals involve monitoring American kestrel nest boxes, determining their success, investigating causes of failure, and contributing valuable data for local and continental-scale analysis. By involving our community, we aim to empower citizens to play a direct role in avian conservation. Our research extends beyond the birds; we're measuring the impact of these community relationships too!
